South Jones Boulevard
South Jones Boulevard is a famous road in Las Vegas, Nevada area. It runs from the intersection of West Sahara Avenue and South Durango Drive to East Flamingo Road. The entire length of the street is quite diverse because it goes through an assortment of neighborhoods including Lake Mead Village, Lake Mead Estates, Lakeside Park Apartments, Desert Shores Mobile Home Park, and Rainbow Gardens.

South Jones is a small, residential street in Henderson, Nevada. Originally named after the area’s first postmaster and founder of the town of South Las Vegas (John J. Jones), this road was renamed to South Jones Boulevard by Clark County officials in honor of James B. “Jimmy” Jones, Jr., who served as county commissioner from 1960 until his death in 1967.
South Jones Boulevard is located on the west side of Las Vegas Valley and runs for about two miles (3 km) from Ann Road to Carey Avenue and then turns southward until it ends at Elkhorn Road near Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The most notable landmarks on this route are Bonanza Hills Country Club, Desert Pines Golf Course.

Jones had originally planned to name it “Las Vegas Boulevard” but changed his mind at the last minute calling it “South Jones Boulevard” instead because he wanted to give more prominence to his name. The street was finally named “Fremont Street” after General John Fremont who headed the military expedition to Las Vegas in 1843.
